I am curious how fast my new sites show up in these statistics.

I literally installed Hubzilla on

about 12 hours ago. So that might be a good one to check. I don't remember which days I launched the other ones. :)

From 7:27 CET(run from 2:00 CET for crawling for new Fediverse instances, so about 5.5h for one run).
7 minute later than script for this post. So tomorrow morning there will be +1 instance.

I didn't realize it took that long to run the script. But because you run it daily, I am sure your stats are much more accurate than the internal database of Hubzilla, which only checks if sites are still live periodically.

Crawler runs 3 times per day. So about 16-17h per day(server is happy 😬). Stats scripts run once per day(for Hubzilla, because internal stats are made on midnight, Mastodon every 4h, for example). It checks Siteinfo of all instance in DB. Even inactive for long time.
Some admins don't post info about their instances to some list of Hubzilla team, but I do it through peers on other platforms. If any Hubzilla instance make connection to any platform with public peers(typically Mastodon), I get it.

Interesting. I was thinking of creating a statistics website, but I was thinking of just using Hubzilla's internal site database, and making that Hubzilla hub a public directory on the network. It would not be as up-to-date, but in theory, it should be able to detect a large percentage of the network.
