I believe this is savage joy at hunting an enemy. Evil, brutal and a fact of war, except here it is once removed by drone.

One of my teachers who experienced the end of WW II as a kid told of similar behavior by US pilots who hunted individual German civilians on a road, until finally killing them with bursts from their machine gun.

It is dreadful when humans descend into that kind of barbarian mindset - but dehumanization of the enemy is a part of war. Not an excuse, ever.
